The Myth of the “Naturally Organised Person”

,

This belief is convenient, but not especially useful. It allows order to seem like a private talent rather than an ordinary practice. If organisation belongs only to a certain type of person, then a chaotic hallway or an unruly wardrobe becomes evidence of character, which is both unkind and untrue. Most disordered homes are not the result of moral weakness. They are the result of systems that have not yet been made easy enough for real life.
